A Sustainable Future Takes Flight
On October 25th, employees celebrated the 60th anniversary of Agnico Eagle Mines Limited –marking the special day by ringing the trading bell to open the Toronto Stock Exchange and some unique local celebrations.
For example, at Pinos Altos, employees gathered to represent the Agnico Eagle symbol as captured by an overhead drone (see photo), putting into a photograph the sentiment that all of us contribute to make Agnico Eagle what it is today.
CEO Sean Boyd expressed his thanks to employees by saying, “What a long amazing flight it has been. Together, we have built a reputation and a “culture of the heart” that endures. Our founder, Paul Penna, wanted to build a company whose common thread was goodness – one that was bursting with a generosity of spirit and family pride. I think the greatest tribute we can pay to him, and to ourselves, is that every Agnico Eagle employee and retiree knows that we have fulfilled his dream, and we continue to ensure that his legacy lives on in our company. That speaks volumes about the future of Agnico Eagle.”
